4. Editorial and Operational Management

The Editorial Team of Journal of Pharmaceuticals and Natural Sciences (J. Pharm. Nat. Sci. or JPNS) coordinates the journal's academic and editorial activities. Administrative and technical staff support these activities within their assigned responsibilities.

Editor-in-Chief. Oversees the scholarly direction and editorial policies of the journal, ensures appropriate peer review and ethical handling, and makes or delegates final editorial decisions. Where a conflict of interest exists, the decision must be assigned to an independent qualified editor.

Managing Editor. Coordinates manuscript workflows, editorial correspondence, processing records, and publication scheduling. Administrative coordination does not confer authority to bypass peer review or guarantee acceptance.

Handling or Section Editors. Assess submissions within their expertise, select appropriate reviewers, consider review reports and author responses, and make recommendations or decisions within their delegated authority.

Editorial Board. Provides relevant academic expertise and advice on journal development and editorial standards. Membership and affiliations must reflect actual appointments and agreed participation.

Reviewers. Provide independent, confidential, and objective assessments of manuscripts and disclose relevant competing interests. Reviewers advise the editors; they do not independently authorize publication.

Editorial Support and Technical Staff. Assist with administration, copyediting, layout, proofreading, metadata, and platform maintenance, as applicable. Their roles do not include overriding scientific evaluation.

5. Editorial Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's originality, scholarly contribution, methodological quality, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with ethical standards. Decisions must not depend on the author's ability to pay, commercial relationships, sponsorship, or affiliation with the owner or publisher.

Directors, shareholders, publisher representatives, sponsors, and administrative staff must not direct editors to accept or reject particular manuscripts for non-scholarly reasons.

Submissions authored by editors or individuals affiliated with the owner or publisher shall be assigned to a qualified editor without a relevant conflict of interest and undergo the journal's ordinary review standards. The author-editor must not select reviewers, access confidential review deliberations through editorial privileges, or participate in the decision on their own manuscript. If necessary, an independent external editor shall be appointed for the case.

6. Funding, Fees, and Commercial Activities

The journal shall disclose its actual sources of operational support and any applicable submission, processing, or publication charges on the [https://edu.pubmedia.id/index.php/jpbi/apc. This information shall specify the amount, currency, payment stage, waiver arrangements, and any applicable refund terms. Where no fee is charged, this shall be stated explicitly.

Payments, waivers, sponsorship, and advertising must not determine editorial decisions. Commercial services must not be presented as a means of securing acceptance. Advertising or sponsored material, where accepted, shall be clearly identified and separated from editorial content.

7. Partnerships and Institutional Affiliations

Any formal collaboration with a university, scholarly association, professional organization, research institution, or other organization shall be described accurately, including the partner's name and the scope of its role.

An editor's university affiliation does not, by itself, make that university an owner, publisher, co-publisher, or institutional partner of the journal. Partnership claims and use of institutional names or logos must be supported by appropriate authorization or a documented agreement.

Partnerships do not confer authority over manuscript decisions unless a legitimate editorial role has been explicitly assigned, subject to the same independence and conflict-of-interest safeguards.

8. Ethics, Complaints, and Accountability

The owner, publisher, and editorial team shall support the implementation of the journal's publication ethics, peer-review, complaints, and post-publication policies within their respective responsibilities.

9. Records, Transparency, and Continuity

The journal shall publish accurate information about its aims and scope, editorial team, review process, publication schedule, fees, licensing, and preservation arrangements. Accreditation or indexing statements shall identify only verified status and link to supporting official records where available.

In the event of a change in ownership, publisher, management, or journal title, the journal shall announce the change, its effective date, and any implications for authors and readers. Relevant registration records shall be updated through the applicable procedures. Access to the published scholarly record shall be maintained in accordance with the journal's preservation arrangements.
